Some fellow Swedes thoughts on Erik Karlsson <3
You could see his offensive potential right away.  Erik has a skating everyone dream about. What  impressed the most this year is how he handles situations in the games. He chooses his cases carefully, instead of “go” all the time. Them it stills happens that he makes mistakes that make you wonder what he’s doing, but then he stops and backchecks and nineteen out of twenty times, he takes back the puck. That is something the guys on the team appreciate very much./ / Daniel Alfredsson, teammate of Ottawa Senators Erik will win the Norris Trophy this year. He has 25 points more than any other defenceman and have what the plus / minus statistics … +16? Yes, there is-no question. He has been superb this season/ / Henrik Zetterberg, Detroit Red Wings He reminds me in some way of Mike Green, our star back here in Washington, when he scored 76 points a few years ago. Yes, Erik is already at 72 so he can beat that. He is as good in the offensive, as on skates and scoring. Really impressive, it’s fun to see a Swedish dominate that way./ / Nicklas Backstrom, Washington Capitals I am very impressed. I’ve only reached those numbers a few times. And he’s only 21 years old. You should remember that young defencmen are the ones who have the toughest with the conversion to the game in North America. The mistakes you commit as a defencemen is generally devastating. So that he already plays at this level this big. Erik will have a brilliant career in this league./ / Nicklas Lidstrom, Norris Trophy seven times winner of the Detroit Red Wings He is amazing on skates and has an superb eye for the game, but that he would produce this incredible amount of points I had hard time to belive. It’s fun to see, he really likes to go on the offensive. Yes, he has scored on me, including a penalty. It stings a little./ / Henrik Lundqvist, New York Rangers. Over here we have been impressed that Alexander Edler have played extremely well and produced a lot of points. And then you see that Erik, away on the other side, produced twice as much. It’s incredible. He is ahead of me and Henrik in the Swedish league points, even though he is an defencmen … very impressive. You don`t have that amount of points if you’re not good all the time. / / Daniel Sedin, Vancouver Canucks
